Amidst the winter haze and a biting 16°F, the Bavarian Inn Lodge in Frankenmuth, MI, transformed into a battleground for pinball enthusiasts on January 14, 2024. The Speakeasy at Bavarian Lodge Inn pinball tournament, masterfully organized by Joe Wade, brought together 30 players for a gripping Group Knockout Tournament. Over the course of 5 and a half hours, the atmosphere was electric, with the warm, bustling vibe of the lodge offering a cozy refuge from the chilly outdoors.

In the heart of the tournament, during Round 5, a remarkable game unfolded on the Deadpool (Pro) machine by Stern. Brent Edwards from Berkley, MI, ranked 1929th in the IFPA, showcased strategic mastery and quick reflexes to clinch first place. He was closely followed by Jeff Catenacci from Roseville, ranked 1089th, Jared August, a top contender at rank 8, and William Stevenson, ranked 2923rd, all demonstrating exceptional skill and determination.

The tournament culminated in a celebration of skill and endurance:
- Jeff Catenacci: From Roseville, with a formidable IFPA rank of 1089, Jeff led the pack with his strategic gameplay, marking his 211th IFPA event.
- Jared August: A veteran in the pinball world, Jared adjusted his strategy to secure the second spot. His impressive IFPA rank of 8 and experience in 282 IFPA events were evident in his play.
- Dominic Labella: With an IFPA rank of 258 and participation in 211 events, Dominic’s consistent performance earned him a well-deserved third place.
- Sterling Mitoska: Hailing from Brooklyn, MI, and ranked 139th, Sterling’s tactical approach and experience from 149 IFPA events helped him secure the fourth position.
