An Evening of Epic Pinball Battles
The 1up Lodo Rockies World Series pinball tournament, which unfolded at The 1Up LoDo in Denver, was a whirlwind of flippers and high scores, lasting for a brisk 11 and a half hours. Under the clear Denver sky, 21 pinball wizards dueled in a Group Knockout Tournament, masterfully coordinated by Deanna Scalf. With a challenging Progressive Strikes system, the competition was fierce and unforgiving.
Godzilla Rampages Through Round 1
The tournament kicked off with a roar on the Godzilla (Premium) machine, where John Quinn from Denver demonstrated exceptional skill and precision, leading the pack. This high-stakes match set the tone for the tournament, showcasing the intense level of competition and camaraderie among the participants.
Honoring the Pinball Champions
As the night progressed, the cream rose to the top. John Quinn emerged victorious, solidifying his status as a pinball powerhouse in Denver. The skilled Walt Wood from Englewood followed closely, with the adept Adam Higgins and the determined Justin Hinman rounding out the top four. Their outstanding performances were a testament to their dedication and love for the game.
The Electrifying Lineup of Machines
The 1Up LoDo was packed with an impressive array of 11 pinball machines, ensuring there was never a dull moment. Highlights included the thrilling Venom (Pro) and the iconic Star Wars (Pro), alongside the freshly released JAWS (Pro). Not to be outdone, The Simpsons Pinball Party and Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory added a nostalgic flair to the mix, captivating players and spectators alike.
More Than Just Pinball
The 1Up Arcade Bar – LoDo proved to be the perfect venue for such a vibrant event, offering great service and an inviting atmosphere. With a handy tip about drink placement (between the machines, not on them!) and a value-for-money token system, attendees could enjoy hours of entertainment without a hitch, whether they were aiming for high scores or just soaking in the fun.
