A Day of Flippers and Fun at the Max Value Classic Challenge

On May 5, 2024, the Ice Box Arcade in Seattle, WA, hosted an epic pinball showdown, the Max Value Classic Challenge. Starting at 2:00 PM, 53 players competed in a 5-round, 2-game per round format, with the top 26 advancing to the Finals. The intensity was palpable as the players navigated through the over 3 and a half hours of thrilling gameplay, all under overcast skies with a brisk 52°F temperature. Germain Mariolle orchestrated the event flawlessly, ensuring a seamless experience for everyone involved.

Dolly Parton’s Hit: A Round 11 Showstopper

Round 11 brought a standout match on the iconic Dolly Parton pinball machine by Bally, released on October 6, 1978. Just like Dolly’s vibrant performances, this game was filled with excitement and energy. Tom Walsh from Seattle, WA, showcased his pinball prowess, securing first place with precision and flair. Chris Chinn followed closely, demonstrating strategic skill. Lee Ford and Alex Tada added their own flair, making this round one for the books.

Celebrating the Champions of the Max Value Classic Challenge

A huge round of applause for the top performers who made their mark in this intense competition:

1. John Robinson from Bothell, WA (IFPA rank 257) – With 708 IFPA events under his belt, John’s experience and skill earned him the top spot.
2. Lonnie Langford (IFPA rank 104) – Lonnie’s performance was stellar, securing second place in his 225th IFPA event.
3. Joshua Francis from Edmonds, WA (IFPA rank 264) – Joshua’s consistent gameplay earned him a well-deserved third place in his 265th event.
4. Jaran Jones (IFPA rank 215) – Jaran’s competitive spirit shone through as he clinched fourth place in his 209th event.
5. Alex Singleterry (IFPA rank 486) – Alex’s extensive experience in 477 events landed him in fifth place.
6. Chris Mullen from Seattle (IFPA rank 1536) – Chris’s strategic play earned him sixth place in his 153rd event.
7. Ryan Slanicka from Tacoma, WA (IFPA rank 2085) – Ryan’s rising talent was evident as he secured seventh place in his 83rd event.
8. Jon Salzman (IFPA rank 707) – Jon’s skillful play in 177 events brought him to eighth place.
