Player 1 Arcade, located at 17239 North Litchfield Road UNIT 60, Surprise, AZ 85374, provided a fantastic setting for the tournament. The arcade is known for its lively atmosphere, making it a perfect place to grab a drink and indulge in some pinball action. Families particularly enjoyed the variety of classic arcade games like Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, and Donkey Kong. Epic Showdown on Iron Maiden
The standout match of the night took place in Round 2 on the Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast machine by Stern, released in April 2018. The game, with its captivating theme inspired by the legendary band, saw Crystal De La O dominate the round. Her precise shots and strategic multiball plays echoed the power and energy of Iron Maiden’s music. Crystal, with a state rank of 207th and an IFPA rank of 7240, emerged victorious over her competitors: Xris Rincon, Cheyenne Fitch, and Matthew Shanks.

The tournament featured 17 different pinball machines, each offering unique challenges and excitement. Highlights included:
- Star Wars (Premium) by Stern (August 2017): This machine immerses players in the epic Star Wars universe with interactive features like the Death Star and hyperdrive ramp. Its dynamic gameplay and vibrant LED lighting make every game feel like a space adventure.

- Guardians of the Galaxy by Stern (November 2017): Featuring characters from the hit movie, this machine includes an Orb toy, Groot’s jaw, and a retro soundtrack. Its engaging modes and colorful playfield make it a fan favorite.
- John Wick (Pro) by Stern (May 2024): Inspired by the action-packed film series, this machine features high-speed ramps, intense multiball modes, and a detailed playfield that mirrors the gritty underworld of John Wick.
- Stranger Things (Pro) by Stern (December 2019): This machine draws players into the eerie world of Hawkins, Indiana, with a Demogorgon toy, Eleven’s telekinetic powers, and immersive UV lighting that reveals hidden artwork.
- Pulp Fiction (SE) by Chicago Gaming (March 2023): Celebrating the iconic film, this machine includes memorable quotes, retro-style playfield features, and a captivating soundtrack that pays homage to the movie’s classic scenes.

- James Bond 007 (Premium) by Stern (September 2022): Step into the shoes of the famous spy with missions that involve battling villains, completing secret agent tasks, and utilizing high-tech gadgets. The sleek design and sophisticated playfield capture the essence of James Bond.
Top Performers of the Night
The competition was fierce, with players showcasing their skills across multiple rounds to secure a spot in the top ranks. The top four players stood out with their exceptional performances and strategic gameplay:
- Dave Halley: With an impressive state rank of 35th and an IFPA rank of 659, Dave’s extensive experience in 444 IFPA events shone through. His consistency and precision earned him the top spot in the tournament, demonstrating why he’s considered one of the best.
- Rob De La O: Ranked 133rd in the state and 4809 in the IFPA, Rob’s steady and calculated play took him to second place. His ability to handle high-pressure situations with ease showcased his strategic approach to pinball.
- Jeremy Reiman: Hailing from Peoria, AZ, Jeremy’s state rank of 171st and IFPA rank of 4885 didn’t stop him from delivering an impressive performance. His adaptability and quick thinking were key to securing third place.
- Andrew Kohtz: From Phoenix, AZ, with a state rank of 72nd and an IFPA rank of 1008, Andrew’s extensive experience in 183 IFPA events was evident in his gameplay. His ability to stay focused and make strategic moves ensured his spot among the top performers.
