A little history on Alvin G. & Co
Alvin G. & Co. was a short-lived but notable pinball manufacturer founded in 1991 by Alvin Gottlieb, the son of David Gottlieb, who founded the legendary Gottlieb pinball company. The company was established after Gottlieb’s original brand had been sold and changed hands multiple times, with Alvin seeking to continue his family’s pinball legacy under a new name.
Despite launching during a challenging era for pinball, Alvin G. & Co. aimed to bring innovation to the industry with unique gameplay concepts. The company produced a handful of machines between 1991 and 1994, including titles like A.G. Soccer-Ball, Mystery Castle, and Al’s Garage Band Goes on a World Tour. Some of their games featured novel mechanics, such as a vertical playfield or unique tournament modes. However, the decline of pinball’s popularity in the 1990s, coupled with strong competition from larger manufacturers like Williams and Bally, led to the company’s closure in 1994. While short-lived, Alvin G. & Co. remains a respected name in pinball history for its creative designs and its attempt to keep the Gottlieb pinball legacy alive.
