Indiana Jones Gameplay & History

Stern’s “Indiana Jones,” designed by John Borg with artwork by Kevin O’Connor, is a sprawling solid-state adventure that perfectly captures the mythic scope of the legendary film franchise. The playfield is a dense, target-rich environment anchored by two flippers, four pop bumpers, and an unusual arrangement of four slingshots that significantly increase the danger in the lower playfield.

The sheer volume of precision objectives is staggering, featuring an incredible nineteen standup targets, three captive balls, two Newton balls, and a pair of spinning targets. A plunger skill shot sets the initial tone, while a single scoop and kick-out hole offer essential control points. Assisted by a stop magnet that can abruptly halt momentum, “Indiana Jones” is a grueling, marathon-length table that tests a player’s endurance and shot accuracy under extreme pressure.

The mechanical centerpiece of the table is a molded Ark of the Covenant toy, which serves as a ball lock capable of holding four balls before dramatically spitting them back out to initiate the game’s chaotic, eight-ball multiball mode.
