Heist Gameplay & History

Heist by Multimorphic is a high-stakes, cops-and-robbers themed caper designed by Stephen Silver from an original concept by TJ Weaver. Developed as a physical playfield conversion kit for the modular P3 pinball platform, this title masterfully fuses tactile kinetic gameplay with a massive, interactive LCD playfield floor. Up to four players can join the crew, plotting bank robberies and dodging the law in a hybrid environment where physical steel balls roll seamlessly over virtual targets. Silver’s layout, paired with Jose Fernandez’s sharp comic-art style and Jonas Hornqvist’s pulsing, cinematic soundtrack, creates an immersive, narrative-driven rush that feels like a classic interactive heist movie.

The mechanical upper playfield features a tight, asymmetric geometry that utilizes three flippers, a single pop bumper, and two snappy slingshots. The centerpiece of the physical layout is a lightning-fast horseshoe lane and a trio of powerful, under-playfield magnets. These magnets act as invisible gravity wells, capturing the ball to simulate cinematic moments like locked vault doors or sudden police roadblocks. Because the lower half of the playfield is a dynamic screen, the physical components must work in perfect harmony with the digital assets, transforming the single pop bumper and the looping horseshoe lane into high-priority targets that change their virtual rewards depending on the current phase of the robbery.

To escape with the loot and dominate the leaderboard, players must prioritize crew selection and master the upper third flipper. A premier tournament strategy involves looping the horseshoe lane repeatedly to build up the getaway jackpot before initiating multiball. When the chaos begins, players should utilize the playfield magnets to temporarily stage balls, clearing the sightlines for the lower flippers to cash in on high-value jackpot shots. By blending deep software rules with clever physical choke points, Heist proves that modular pinball can deliver the same mechanical soul and strategic tension as any dedicated cabinet.
