Disney TRON: Legacy Gameplay & History

Stern’s Disney TRON: Legacy, released in 2011 to coincide with the film, is one of the most striking-looking machines of its generation — a neon-drenched dive into the digital Grid from designer John Borg. Glowing inserts, a 3D translite, and a spinning disc give the table a luminous, electric atmosphere, and beneath the style sits a genuinely rewarding ruleset built around the movie’s light cycles, discs, and digital duels.

The scoring rewards a player who learns the table’s combos and stacking. Hitting the lit yellow inserts qualifies Light Cycle Multiball at the scoop, while the Quorra shot beside the disc lights Quorra Multiball — and any shot chain ending with the upper ramp to the left flipper enables a lucrative “End of Line” jackpot. The expert move is to start the TRON-standup double scoring first, since it applies to the entire game including the Sea of Simulation awards, then build from there. During Light Cycle Multiball, any three-way combo collects the Super Jackpot and completes the mode.

The deep end holds a real prize: complete all the modes before starting Sea of Simulation and you’re rewarded with an instant 50 million and an immediate Portal Multiball. Sleek, fast, and gorgeous in a dark room, TRON: Legacy has become a modern favorite — proof that a machine can be a visual showpiece and a satisfying shooter at the same time.
