James Bond 007 (LE) Gameplay & History

The Limited Edition of Stern’s James Bond 007 is the top-tier expression of George Gomez’s 2022 spy epic, and it takes its theme from Thunderball — the 1965 Sean Connery adventure famous for its underwater warfare and globe-trotting glamour. Limited to a small run, the LE pairs exclusive art and finishes with the full gadget-laden layout: three flippers, an aerial target, a magnet, a diverter, vertical up-kickers, and an action button on the lockdown bar that arms 007’s arsenal.

The game is built on the pillars of the Bond formula: villains, henchmen, Bond women, and Q Branch. You start villain modes off the right ramp and henchman modes off the side ramp, while completing shots lights the Bond women — each granting a playfield multiplier triggered by the violet action button. The first trip into the left scoop fires up Jetpack Multiball, and the real depth lives in the SPECTRE Weapon, where timing your shot to land on the orange or blue insert can light modes worth up to 100 million.

Smooth backhands from the right flipper send the ball around the right orbit to cycle villains and henchmen and juggle several threads at once, all building toward the “Bond… James Bond” wizard mode, an unlimited-ball victory lap. Stylish, cinematic, and richly equipped, the James Bond LE is Gomez distilling six decades of spy-movie cool into a showpiece machine worthy of the world’s most famous secret agent — shaken, not stirred.
