James Bond 007 (Pro) Gameplay & History

Stern brought the world’s most famous secret agent to the playfield in 2022 with James Bond 007, and this Pro edition takes its cue from the one that started it all — Dr. No, the 1962 film that introduced Sean Connery’s 007. Designed by George Gomez, Stern’s chief creative officer and a designer with licensed heavyweights like The Lord of the Rings to his name, the table channels classic spy-adventure swagger across three flippers, a bank of drop targets, and an action button on the lockdown bar that puts you in control of the gadgets.

True to the source, the game is built around the pillars of the Bond formula: villains, henchmen, Bond women, and Q Branch. You start villain modes off the right ramp and henchman modes off the side ramp, while completing shots lights the Bond women, each granting a playfield multiplier you trigger with the violet action button. The first trip into the left scoop fires up Jetpack Multiball, and stacking a high-value mode with a multiball is where the big numbers live.

For the player who likes to control the table, Bond rewards finesse — quick backhands that send the ball from the right flipper around the right orbit help you cycle villains and henchmen and advance several threads at once. It all builds toward the “Bond… James Bond” wizard mode, an unlimited-ball victory lap earned by clearing four modes and both multiballs. Stylish, cinematic, and approachable, the Pro is a confident salute to cinema’s coolest spy.
