The latest showdown at EinStein’s Pub and Arcade was nothing short of electrifying. On June 23, 2024, twenty pinball aficionados gathered for the EinStein’s=MatchplayCompetition². The event, organized by Space City Pinball, saw intense competition over seven rounds, culminating in a thrilling finals where the top eight battled it out in two rounds of three games each. Despite the light rain and the sweltering heat that felt like 103°F, the pinball spirits were high, and the competition fierce.
A Gem of a Pub
EinStein’s Pub & Arcade, located at 16733 West Airport Blvd. ste. 290, Richmond, Texas 77407, was the perfect setting for this epic tournament. The arcade is renowned for its family-friendly atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for pinball lovers of all ages. With a plethora of pinball machines, delicious burgers, and an abundance of TVs, it’s no wonder the reviews rave about the place being a paradise for both kids and adults. Epic Showdown on JAWS (LE)
The highlight of the finals was undoubtedly the marathon match on JAWS (LE), Stern’s January 2024 release. This game, inspired by the iconic shark thriller, saw players Chris Low, Chris Geist, Mike Flanagan, and Grayson Turner locked in a grueling 99-minute duel. The tension was palpable as each player skillfully navigated the perilous waters of Amity Island, dodging the great white shark to rack up points. In the end, Chris Low emerged victorious, showcasing his prowess and nerve under pressure.
Star Machines on Display
The tournament featured an impressive lineup of 16 machines, each with its unique flair and challenges. James Bond 007 (LE) by Stern, with its sleek spy-themed design, kept players on their toes. Theatre of Magic by Bally captivated with its enchanting illusions and magical tricks. JAWS (LE) brought the thrill of shark-infested waters right to the flippers. Toy Story 4 (LE) by Jersey Jack Pinball delighted with its nostalgic adventure, while Monster Bash (Remake LE) by Chicago Gaming resurrected the classic monster-movie chaos. Other standouts included Godzilla (LE), Cactus Canyon (Remake LE), and the ever-popular Medieval Madness (Remake Royal Edition).

A hearty congratulations to all the winners who showcased their exceptional pinball skills. Chris Geist, with an impressive IFPA rank of 866 and 335 total events, clinched the top spot. Grayson Turner, from Spring, TX, secured second place with a rank of 1496 in 115 events. Chris Low, ranked 2356 with 144 events, and Mike Flanagan, from Houston, TX, ranked 1166 with 106 events, rounded out the top four. What an electrifying evening at the MFStrikes!! tournament held on June 20, 2024. The tension was palpable as 17 pinball wizards faced off in a grueling Basic Knockout format, battling through 11 intense rounds. Players were paired in two-player games, with elimination looming after three strikes. The event, lasting approximately three hours, unfolded at the iconic Lynn’s Arcade: A Pinball Parlor and Can Slangery, where both veterans and newcomers showcased their skills.
The Vibe at Lynn’s Arcade
Lynn’s Arcade, in Seaside, California, is more than just a pinball bar. Located at 1760 Fremont Boulevard, Suite D1, this charming arcade offers a laid-back, fun-filled environment perfect for dates, family outings, or a solo pinball session. With a stellar deal of $20 for unlimited play, it’s no wonder the place is a favorite among locals. The arcade’s atmosphere is enhanced by its welcoming vibe, complete with beer, ciders, and kid-friendly facilities. Cary Carmichael, the mastermind behind the tournament, ensured everything ran smoothly, contributing to a memorable evening despite the overcast skies and a cool 54°F temperature outside.
A Standout Game on Medieval Madness
Round 4 was a highlight, featuring a showdown on the legendary Medieval Madness by Williams, released in June 1997. This machine, with voices from comedy greats like Tina Fey and Greg Freres, added a layer of humor and nostalgia to the fierce competition. Xavier Marin, ranked 734th in the IFPA, and Greg Gorelick, ranked 2035th, battled it out. Xavier’s strategic gameplay and mastery of the machine’s quirks secured them the top spot, while Greg’s resilience earned them a close second.

Our latest pinball showdown, MFStrikes!!, kicked off with a bang. This knockout tournament featured 15 eager players facing off in intense two-player games. The format was simple: survive nine rounds without collecting three strikes. The event took place on June 6, 2024, at 7:00 PM at the iconic Lynn’s Arcade: A Pinball Parlor and Can Slangery. The competition was fierce, lasting nearly 3 hours. Cary Carmichael orchestrated this thrilling evening, where scattered clouds and a cool 57°F added to the atmosphere.
Lynn’s Arcade: A Pinball Haven
Located at 1760 Fremont Boulevard, Suite D1, Seaside, California, Lynn’s Arcade: A Pinball Parlor and Can Slangery provided the perfect backdrop for our tournament. The atmosphere was electric, with friendly staff who were as passionate about pinball and beer as the players themselves. The machines were meticulously maintained, adding to the overall enjoyment of the event. If you’re ever in the area, make sure to stop by and experience the magic for yourself.
Round 4 Highlight: The Battle on Pabst Can Crusher
The fourth round brought us a standout match on the Pabst Can Crusher by Stern (January 2016). The game’s vibrant, beer-themed artwork set the stage for an epic showdown. Philip Priddy, ranked 1163 in the IFPA, clinched first place, outplaying Linda G, ranked 7028. With every flipper flip and skillful nudge, Philip demonstrated exceptional prowess, mastering the intricate shots and combos that the Can Crusher demanded. Linda put up a valiant fight but couldn’t quite match Philip’s dominance on this frothy battleground.

The Electric Bat Arcade was buzzing with excitement on June 4, 2024, as 111 players gathered for the Electric Bat Season 12-Part 1 #2 pinball tournament. With rounds lasting nearly three hours, the competition was fierce, and the atmosphere was electric. Organizer Rachel Bess orchestrated a smooth and engaging event that showcased some of the best pinball talent around.
Toy Story 4 Steals the Show in Round 4
Round 4 featured an unforgettable match on Toy Story 4 (LE) by Jersey Jack Pinball, released in June 2022. The game, inspired by the beloved Pixar movie, brought a whimsical and nostalgic feel to the round. Connor Kennedy, with an IFPA rank of 1732, channeled his inner Woody and Buzz, navigating the playful and challenging playfield with precision. His skillful use of multiball modes and sharp shots to complete various character missions propelled him to victory. Jim Smith AZ from Phoenix, Keegan Crandall, and Ty Bull put up a valiant fight, but Connor’s mastery of the game’s intricate features earned him the top spot.

A huge round of applause to Jeff Barthold, who clinched first place with an impressive IFPA rank of 1105 and a history of 256 IFPA events. Jeff’s consistent performance and dedication to the sport are truly commendable.
In second place, Walter Dony from Phoenix, with an IFPA rank of 324 and 148 events under his belt, demonstrated his formidable skills and tenacity.
Roland Nadeau, also from Phoenix and holding an impressive IFPA rank of 36 with 307 events, secured third place. Roland’s high ranking and extensive experience highlight his exceptional talent in the pinball world.
Rounding out the top four, Jay Bondelli, with an IFPA rank of 1133 and 108 events, showcased his competitive spirit and solid gameplay.

On June 4, 2024, the pinball community gathered at The Pinball Lounge at Oviedo Bowling Center for the much-anticipated Bonanza tournament. With clear skies and a balmy 85°F, the event was set for a night of thrilling pinball action. Twelve players competed in six rounds, each showcasing their skills on a variety of classic and modern pinball machines.
Godzilla Unleashed: Round 1 Showdown
The first round of the tournament erupted with an explosive showdown on Godzilla (Premium) by Stern, released in September 2021. This machine, inspired by the king of monsters, set the stage for an electrifying battle. Mike Zink, ranked 2343, channeled their inner Godzilla, dominating the playfield with monstrous skill and precision to secure first place. Anton Samilian, ranked 4357, played with remarkable finesse, earning a solid second place. John Osborne, with an IFPA rank of 5366, held his ground to capture third, showcasing his strategic understanding of the game. Sheri Lewis, ranked 12286, showed incredible resilience and enthusiasm, finishing fourth. The Godzilla machine, with its stunning visuals and immersive sound effects, created an unforgettable experience, making this round a thrilling kickoff to the tournament.

The Pinball Lounge is undoubtedly the best pinball spot in the Orlando area. With well-maintained machines and great play deals for singles, timed, or unlimited coin drops, it’s a paradise for pinball enthusiasts. Located at 376 E Broadway Street, Oviedo, FL, this venue offers an unbeatable atmosphere for both casual and competitive play. During my visit, I was compelled to return twice, unable to resist the lure of the perfectly curated pinball experience.

On June 2nd, 2024, under a canopy of overcast skies and a comfortable 79°F, 15 passionate pinball warriors gathered at Pinball Jones for the PBJ Monthly June ’24 tournament. This was no ordinary gathering; it was a Group Knockout Tournament consisting of 11 intense rounds where players were eliminated after receiving 3 strikes. As the clock ticked for 5 and 1/2 hours, the atmosphere was charged with excitement and competitive spirit.
Indiana Jones Adventure: Round 8 Highlights
In Round 8, the action peaked on the legendary Indiana Jones: The Pinball Adventure by Williams. Imagine the players as Indiana Jones themselves, navigating through treacherous paths and ancient ruins. Tai Tran, ranked 2792 in the IFPA, channeled their inner Indy and took the top spot, deftly maneuvering through the challenges. Paul Kardell, our fearless organizer with an IFPA rank of 2074, showcased their skills with precision, landing in second.
