Stern Army- Louie’s Tap House: A Rainy Evening of Pinball

On April 18, 2024, the Stern Army- 3rd Thursdays at Louie’s Tap House brought together 22 pinball enthusiasts for a competitive evening, despite the damp weather. Organized by Tom Menge in Roscoe, Illinois, the event lasted over three hours, featuring a format of 3 rounds with 2 games per round.

Marathon on James Bond 007: Game of the Night

The standout game of the night was played on the James Bond 007 (Premium) pinball machine, a recent Stern creation. A grueling 75-minute battle ensued during the second round, where David Slaymaker emerged victorious, showcasing exceptional skill and endurance.

Champions of the Night

The tournament concluded with notable performances from the top players:

  1. David Slaymaker, from Rockford, IL, showcased his pinball mastery, topping the chart with his significant experience in 65 IFPA events.
  2. Joe Buchanan, from Machesney Park, demonstrated great skill and strategy, earning him the second place.
  3. Todd Eccles claimed the third spot, proving his mettle across numerous tournaments.
  4. Nick Naruz, adjusted up by 5 points, finished fourth, showing that every point counts in competitive pinball.
