With temperatures soaring to 91°F, the inside of the arcade provided a cool respite filled with intense competition. The tournament lasted a solid 5 hours, featuring 37 players battling it out in a grueling 13-round knockout format, where players faced elimination after receiving three strikes.

The latest showdown at EinStein’s Pub and Arcade was nothing short of electrifying. On June 23, 2024, twenty pinball aficionados gathered for the EinStein’s=MatchplayCompetition². The event, organized by Space City Pinball, saw intense competition over seven rounds, culminating in a thrilling finals where the top eight battled it out in two rounds of three games each. Despite the light rain and the sweltering heat that felt like 103°F, the pinball spirits were high, and the competition fierce.

The highlight of the finals was undoubtedly the marathon match on JAWS (LE), Stern’s January 2024 release. This game, inspired by the iconic shark thriller, saw players Chris Low, Chris Geist, Mike Flanagan, and Grayson Turner locked in a grueling 99-minute duel. The tension was palpable as each player skillfully navigated the perilous waters of Amity Island, dodging the great white shark to rack up points. In the end, Chris Low emerged victorious, showcasing his prowess and nerve under pressure.

I woke up ravenous and rushed to the D82 Lucky 13 Tournament on June 23, 2024. With my stomach growling louder than the pinball machines, I was ready for an intense day of flipper action. The event, held at District 82 Pinball, featured 13 rounds of single-game battles among 32 players, lasting a hefty 6.5 hours. The overcast clouds and a cool 65°F set the stage for a day filled with pinball excitement.
The Delicious Atmosphere at District 82 Pinball
District 82 Pinball Arcade, located at 800 O Keefe Road, De Pere, WI, is a pinball enthusiast’s paradise. Stepping inside, I was greeted by an impressive array of machines, all impeccably maintained. The venue’s atmosphere was electric, with players eagerly competing and spectators cheering them on. I had attended D82’s Super Series before and knew I was in for a treat. The efficiency with which the tournament was run, combined with the presence of food trucks and the BYOB policy, made for an unforgettable experience. Kudos to Erik Thoren and his team for creating such a fantastic environment! District 82 Pinball.
