Scott Ping, ranked 91st in Arizona, proved why it deserved that rank in this game. With precise shots and a deep understanding of the game’s modes, Scott managed to outmaneuver Rob De La O, Frankie Estrella, and Joel Daniel, securing a first-place finish in this round. The tension was palpable as Scott activated “Cherry Bomb Multiball,” racking up points while the Guardians theme blared through the arcade. It was a match that set the tone for the rest of the tournament.

The Machines That Stole the Show

Player 1 Arcade hosted an impressive lineup of 17 pinball machines for this tournament, and each one brought its unique flavor to the competition. Here are a few highlights:

• Pulp Fiction (SE) by Chicago Gaming: This 2023 release is a love letter to the classic Tarantino film. With scenes from the movie, custom voiceovers, and dynamic modes, it’s a game that demands your full attention.

Celebrating the Champions

Nobu Sanders, despite being relatively new to the competitive pinball scene, made a remarkable impression by clinching second place. This was only Nobu’s second IFPA event, yet it demonstrated an innate talent that could make them a rising star in the Arizona pinball community.

Kevin Ehlers, a seasoned player with a solid track record, finished strong in third place. His deep understanding of the game mechanics allowed him to stay competitive throughout the tournament, but the final match just slipped out of his reach.

Jobie, with his experience from over 100 IFPA events, fought hard but settled for fourth place. His consistent play has always made him a formidable opponent, and this tournament was no exception, though the competition was fierce.
