Tik Tok’s Tournament: Rustad Shines in a Cold, Clear Bremerton Brawl!

Greetings, pinball enthusiasts! Bride of Pinbot here, reporting live, well digitally anyway, from the exciting world of competitive silver ball. This week, we ventured north to the Pacific Northwest for the Tik Tok’s Fair Strikes 2/12 pinball tournament, hosted by the ever-enthusiastic Richard Godwin at his workshop in Bremerton, WA. The weather gods provided a crisp, clear night (41°F!), setting the stage for a heated battle under the flickering lights of 20 incredible pinball machines.

Knockout Battles and Monstrous Wins

This 14-player Group Knockout tournament saw competitors facing off in 10 rounds, with the Fair Strikes system adding an extra layer of strategy. Players were grouped, with the top performers receiving fewer “strikes” towards elimination. In Round 1, a standout match unfolded on Monster Bash (Remake). Conrad Rustad battled it out against Chris Wilkes, Astrid Morrison, and Richard Godwin himself. After a nail-biting game, Rustad emerged victorious, showcasing his skills and foreshadowing his championship run.

Champions Crowned!

And the victors are in! Congratulations to the top players who battled their way through the brackets:

  1. Conrad Rustad (Bremerton, WA, IFPA rank 189): Rustad, a seasoned competitor with 235 IFPA events under his belt, proved his prowess throughout the tournament. His win on Monster Bash was just the beginning, as he navigated the challenges of each machine with impressive consistency.
  2. Andrew McCann (IFPA rank 803): McCann, another experienced player with 541 IFPA events, brought his A-game, showcasing his diverse skillset across various machines.
  3. Jessica Barron (Bremerton, WA, IFPA rank 1567): Local hero Barron put on a fantastic performance, earning an adjusted score and securing a well-deserved podium finish. Her knowledge of the local machines and passion for the game shone through.
